Butterscotch's visit to Oxford ended well today with a lecture in the morning that was well received and a visit to C. S. Lewis's house in the afternoon:
Now Butterscotch can't wait to get back on the plane tomorrow and home to see his family: Joshua, Jonathan, James and Becky! See you all soon. . . .

Butterscotch goes to the Opera
Butterscotch had a very full day indeed. The day began with breakfast, of course, followed by classes, lunch, more classes, then a C. S. Lewis tour of Oxford (pictured above).
Now it is high time for us to have our curtain call and go to bed!
Then Butterscotch had to walk very quickly back to St. Stephen's House to get ready for a big night. Once we were all dressed it was off to a black tie dinner at New College:
This was followed by Perelandra the Opera at the Sheldonian Theatre:

Butterscotch has Tea
Butterscotch had tea today with his new friend Walter. Butterscotch asked me to show you this photo too to prove that I am with him in Oxford. . . .
Also, Butterscotch wanted me to let you know there are some very strange street names in England. This one really gave us pause to ponder. . . .
It made us wonder if someone we know and love lives on this street?! Maybe some day . . .Wednesday, June 24, 2009
Butterscotch goes to the Pub
Butterscotch had another long day of classes. So at the end of it he was really ready just to go to the pub and hang out with friends. Here he is with his new friend Sandy. . . .
The pub is the Mitre on the High Street in the very heart of Oxford. Butterscotch's good friends, Joshua, Jon, James and Becky have walked by the Mitre but probably don't remember.
Along the way to the Mitre Butterscotch got to see more beautiful sights in Oxford as the sun set on another day. . . .

A Day of Classes
Butterscotch spent the day in classes today. His head is now filled with much knowledge. As a result, he is ready for a break. In the picture above you can see Butterscotch with a very nice Anglican priest, Ian from Devon.
Here are some more pictures of St. Stephen's House, where Butterscotch is staying. This is a picture of the cloister and the church of St. John the Evangelist:
And here is a photo of the building where Butterscotch has his room, on the second floor near the corner:

First Day in England
Today was Butterscotch's first day in England! Here are some pictures of the many things he did. . . .
Butterscotch is sure missing Joshua, but it was a great day anyway. And now that the sun has finally set, it's time for Butterscotch to go to bed.
Butterscotch rode the bus from Heathrow to Oxford.
He settled into his room at St. Stephen's House. He liked the view from the windowsill the best.
Butterscotch found out what a big place Oxford is with lots of people, buses and cars coming and going. He went to the University Church and sat in a pew, even though it wasn't Sunday.
Butterscotch had dinner with a famous author at a well-known Oxford pub:
